Welcome
A New Place for Special Needs Families
Our goal is to have everyone who helps those with disabilities add their information here. Having one place to find resources, services, products and support will make life so much easier for us special needs families.
When you register, you include your zip code. Then you can find services, events and organizations in your own neighborhood. And with our Friends feature, you can find local families for friendship and to set up play dates with children (teens and adults too) who have similar interests.
One Place for Special Needs is the brainchild of Dawn Villarreal, mother of two special needs kids. As someone who personally understands how hard it is to navigate the special needs "world," she is laying the groundwork for a massive disability information network. You can help by telling other families and those that work with disabilities to be a part of this growing community.
Looking for Summer Programs
While other families might look forward to summer
as a chance to relax and take a break, us special needs parents are
already assessing our school district's extended school year program
and looking for therapeutic, tutoring and recreational support for the
summer months.
On behalf of special needs families I am asking those who offer summer support to add your information in our Services directory so parents can know all that's available in their community. Teachers who plan to tutor over the summer, therapy centers with summer therapeutic programs, special rec associations with recreational/sports classes, psychologists putting together social skills groups--you are all welcome here!
